NOTICE-Public Display- In accordance with statutory requirements of Title II of the National Affordable Housing Act of 1990, PL101-625 the Williamsport submits its 2015 HOME Investments and Community Development Block Grant Annual Performance Report for public comment.    These Reports describe the level of housing and other assistance provided to low-income persons and households through Federal HOME and Community Development Block Grant from January 1, 2015 through December 31, 2015. Reports are available at Community Development Office, City Hall, 245 West 4th St., Williamsport, Pa, www.cityofwilliamsport.org, and James V. Brown Library, 19 East 4th St., Williamsport, PA.    Send written comments to: Attention John Grado, Director, Community Development, 245 West 4th St., Williamsport, PA 17701, before March 31, 2016.

 

 NOTICE OF MEETING - The City of Williamsport is seeking public input on grant applications that it is planning to submit to the PA Department of Community and Economic Development.  The City is applying for funding for a streetscape project and a rental property facade improvement project for the Brodart Neighborhood Improvement Project area.        The meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at the All Saints Church, Parish Hall on the corner of Scott and Beeber Streets.

 

NOTICE - Amendment to the City of Williamsport’s HOME Action Plans - In accordance with the statutory requirements of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended, the regulation of the Consolidated Submission for Community Planning and Development Programs, Part 24 CFR 91.505 (a)(2), the City of Williamsport hereby notifies the public of the following changes to its HOME Action Plans.  Specifically, Unencumbered HOME funds from program years 2010, 2011 and 2012 in the amount of $300,000 will be allocated toward the construction of five rental units as part of a planned housing multi-unit development to be located at the former Brodart Warehouse site, 1609 Memorial Ave.,Williamsport, PA.  HOME assisted units must be rented to income eligible tenants who are at or below 80% of the area's median income.  A copy of the proposed amendment is available for public inspection and review at City Hall, Economic and Community Development Office, 245 West Fourth St., Williamsport.   Written comments may be sent to John J. Grado, Director, Economic and Community Development Dept., 245 West Fourth St., Williamsport, PA  17701.  Citizens will have until May 19th, 2013 which is 30 days from the date of this notice was published, to comment on the amendment.

 

 NOTICE - Public Display CDBG/HOME ACTION PLAN FY 2013 - CITY OF WILLIAMSPORT - In accordance with the Federal regulations at 24 CFR Part 91, the City of Williamsport has prepared a Consolidated Plan, which is a requirement for direct assistance under certain HUD funding programs including the Community Development Block Grant Program and HOME program.  As part of the Consolidated Plan process, the City has prepared the Action Plan for the Fiscal Year 2013, which runs from January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2013.  The draft Action Plan will be available for public inspection for 30 days from Thursday, October 4, 2012 to Friday, November 2, 2012.  Copies are available for review at the following locations in the City:  City of Williamsport, Office of Economic and Community Development, 245 W. Fourth St., Williamsport, PA 17701  James V. Brown Library, 19 E. Fourth St., Williamsport, PA 17701  The draft Action Plan is also available on the City of Williamsport website Public Review Pages        All activities must benefit low and moderate-income residents of the City of Williamsport or aid in the elimination of blight.  The City of Williamsport will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. in the Sechler Community Room, City Hall, 245 West Fourth St., Williamsport.  The purpose of the public hearing will be discussion of the 2013 draft Action Plan.  The City intends to submit the 2013 Action Plan to HUD on or about November 15, 2012.  Interested persons are encouraged to express their views on the Action Plan for F.Y. 2013 at the public hearing or in writing.  Written comments should be sent to the Office of Economic and Community Development, 245 West Fourth St.,Williamsport, PA  17701, Attn: John J. Grado, Director.  All comments should be received by the end of the display period on November 2, 2012.

 

 NOTICE - Public Hearing September 2012 - Notice is hereby given that the City of Williamsport in accordance with the City’s Plan for Citizen Participation will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, September 11, 2012.  The hearing will be held at 4:00 p.m. in the Sechler Community Room, City Hall, 245 West Fourth St., Williamsport, PA.   The purpose of the hearing is to review the City’s CDBG and HOME programs and provide an opportunity for the public to comment on program performance; and obtain the views and comments of individuals and organizations concerning the City’s housing and community development needs.  The information gathered will be used in the preparation of the Annual Action Plan submission to HUD for fiscal year 2013 for the Community Development Block Grant program and related programs.  All interested individuals and organizations are invited to attend this hearing and offer their views and comments on the housing and community development needs of the City of Williamsport.   A summary of the annual 2013 Action plan will be published in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette prior to a public hearing on said annual Action Plan.  The City intends to submit its application for F.Y. 2013 funds to HUD on or about November 15, 2012.
