City Park Maintenance

Public Works is responsible for maintaining City parks and Splash Cove, formerly known as Memorial Pool. Responsibilities include: mowing, trimming, keeping all areas clean and free of trash, playground maintenance, tree care, preparation of flower beds for planting in the spring, weed control, leaf removal in the fall, and sidewalk snow and ice removal in the winter.

Brandon Park

Brandon Park, on the north end of Market Street, only a few blocks from Lycoming College, has grass areas, trees, children’s play equipment, a Band Shell, a baseball field and six lighted tennis courts.

Young's Woods

Young Woods is located in East End. It has a picnic pavillion, basketball court and children’s playground area.

Lose School Playground has a walking path, basketball court and play area. It is located on 1100 block Memorial Avenue.

Susquehanna State Park

Susquehanna State Park, a 20 acre river front recreational area in Newberry off Arch Street, is home of the Hiawatha Paddlewheel Riverboat.

Phillip E. Preziosi Park

Newberry Park is located near Poplar Street in Williamsport’s West End. It has a perimeter walking path, playground designed for children 2 to 5 and 6 to 12 years of age, a green area, where the spring Newberry Lions Fair is held, and a Bocce court.

Shaw Place

Shaw Place in East End is on Sherman Street. Shaw Place has the longest park walking path in Williamsport, playground equipment, a softball field, soccer field, tennis courts and a hitting wall.

Veterans Memorial Park

Veterans Memorial Park, in the extreme West End of the City, contains memorials of past United States and world conflicts. It is easily accessible from West Fourth Street.

Memorial Park

Memorial Park on West Fourth Street, is the Home of Bowman Field and the minor league Crosscutters baseball team.

Memorial Park has children’s play equipment, picnic tables, and 2 pickleball courts. Six public tennis courts and the Elm Park Softball Field are located on the south side of West Fourth Street near Memorial Park. Elm Park is a city facility managed by the Williamsport Soft Ball Association. The Original Little League Field is across the street from Memorial Park.

Bowman Field is utilized during Little League to host the MLB Little League Classic.
