House. Two and one half story Victorian eclectic house. Now aluminum
sided, which mars the integrity. Multigabled roof with large front dormer.
Decorative wood window frames. Wrap around porch with arched posts and
turned spindles, railing. Residents were George W. Strayer, first occupant, the
Coryell family and in 1890’s, H. Melick Foresman.
A. Remove existing asphalt roofing. Repair or replace sheeting as needed.
Install GAF Timberline Natural Shadow, Algae Resistant Architectural Roof
Shingles (Charcoal or Pewter Gray) on all pitched roof areas.
B. Reinstall a salvaged, original porch post. Paint same as existing.
Possible applicable Standards #2-The historic character of a property will be retained and preserved.
Removal of distinctive materials or alteration of features, spaces and spatial relationships that
characterize a property will be avoided. #5. Distinctive features, finishes, and construction techniques
or examples of craftsmanship that characterize a property shall be preserved.

David Andersen, 363 Meadowview Dr. Montoursville 17754
66-001-402 1890 Two story brick Victorian Italianate house
with a multigabled roof. Clapboard gables. Arched wood
Italianate style window heads and thick, wide cornice.
Protruding bay on each side with cement siding. Front porch
with square posts and enclosed bottom, square latticework
under porch.
A. Demolish existing front porch deck and framing. Support
porch roof. Retain concrete steps, porch roof and existing spouting. Rebuild porch deck frame/support
using PT lumber.
B. Install fir Tongue & Groove flooring. Back priming the underside and the board tongues before
installation is recommended.
C. Remove existing railings. Construct new railings to match the original design as closely as possible.
D. Repair or rebuild the tight weave, square, framed lattice to match the existing.
E. Paint the porch in the previously approved Benjamin Moore paints historic colors:
Shaker Gray – Mink – Custom Tan base house color (as needed)
Note: Standards recommend #5. Distinctive features, finishes, construction techniques or examples of
craftsmanship that characterize a property shall be preserved. #6. Deteriorated historic features shall be
repaired rather than replaced. Where deterioration requires replacement of distinctive feature, new shall
match the old in design, color, texture, other visual qualities and, if possible, materials.
An alternative may be to retain all salvageable porch posts, railings and lattice. If any existing posts,
railings, spindles, trim and lattice are not repairable or are badly damaged, they may be replaced in the
same size and shape with appropriate new materials.

J Cipriani 801 1/2 Sheridan St.
65-004-228 1880 Two and one half story stucco Victorian Gothic style
house. Steep multigabled roof with Gothic style gable trim and arched window. Quoins, protruding first
floor bay in front with a decorative cornice. Semi-circle window heads and small brackets. Wrap
around porch with turned posts and railing. Unroofed rear porch with turned spindles and a steel door
added in 2004.
A. Remove loose or damaged stucco. Prepare and patch per
accepted masonry standards, with proper mixes of portland,
sand, lime and bonding agent. Finish coat to match original.
B. Paint: colors:

historic features shall be repaired rather than replaced. Where
